TP-Link’s Neffos Smartphone Brand to Exhibit at CES 2017

Jan10, 2017

Las Vegas, Nevada, January 9, 2017 — Neffos, a brand established by TP-Link, exhibits for the first time at CES 2017, the world’s biggest tech gathering.

Neffos signifies the entrance of the world’s No. 1 provider of networking products into the smartphone market. It was launched at the 2016 IFA tech show to bring people closer together and help customers make real, seamless connections to the world around them through technology.

With “Close to you” as its brand slogan, Neffos strives to make the most human-oriented personal mobile device in the digital era.

To showcase its vision of bringing the focus back to the smartphone’s original purpose of connecting people, Neffos put on display its latest offerings — the X1 and the X1 Max — at CES. From January 5 to 8, 2017, the two devices have been shown at the TP-Link Booth (30526) in Tech East South Hall 3, Las Vegas Convention Center.

The recently launched Neffos X1 and X1 Max combine premium design and careful craftsmanship with uncompromised performance and are in line with the brand’s mission. They offer the best technology available to those who want to build connections and stay connected wherever they are.

Both phones are already available in Cloudy Gray and Sunrise Gold variants.

Phones designed and crafted for greatness

Sleek and built using high-quality materials, the metal unibody of the Neffos X1 and X1 Max have been refined to give customers the best user experience.

The symmetrical design makes for a sensible layout for the mic hole, camera, and fingerprint sensor, while also allowing the latter to be located where one’s index finger naturally falls on the device.

The sensor unlocks the phone in a mere 0.2 seconds. It makes use of sophisticated algorithms, so the more a user unlocks the device, the more accurate it gets over time.

The curves on the back, meanwhile, strike the perfect balance between style and function and allow for a better grip and a more ergonomic fit in the hand.

A high screen-to-body ratio of 76 percent — higher than that of the Apple iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 — is achieved by keeping the bezels along the sides thin and reducing the length of the handset.

The narrow metal frame has been constructed using advanced stamping techniques and measures *7.85mm thick, although its visual thickness is just 2.75mm, one of the narrowest in the industry.

The IPS display is gorgeous at 5 inches for the X1 and 5.5 inches for the X1 Max.

A sheet of 2.5D curved-edge glass protects the panel from bumps and knocks and makes swiping through screens and navigating the interface feel natural.

The Neffos X1 and X1 Max are indeed perfect for playing graphics-rich games and watching TV shows and movies on the go.

Uncompromised performance

The Neffos X1 and X1 Max are equipped with a rear camera backed by a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor with dual-tone flash, 5-element lens, backside illumination, and fast phase-detection auto-focus of just 0.2 seconds.

The forward-facing camera is 5 megapixels and sports a wide-angle lens. Real-time Beautify mode is built into the camera software so that users are just one tap away from taking the perfect selfie.

Inside, the Neffos X1 and X1 Max are powered by an octa-core chip from MediaTek, paired with as much as **4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory with expandable storage of up to 128GB. Dual-band WiFi is included, alongside support for voice over LTE or VoLTE — should the service provider support it as well — and multiple LTE frequencies for fast mobile internet where available.

The phones run a custom Android 6.0 Marshmallow build with more than 3,000 improvements.

The high-capacity ***3,000mAh battery inside the X1 Max is huge enough to sustain a full work day. It supports fast charging to get the phone powered up and ready to rock in little time.

These specs translate just as well in the real world as on paper. The Neffos X Series can handle anything from typical smartphone activities, like updating social media and streaming videos, to demanding games. Wireless connections over WiFi and cellular are likewise steadier and more reliable.

*X1: 7.95mm thick, 2.95mm edges; X1 Max: 7.85mm thick, 2.75mm edges

**X1: 3GB of RAM + 32GB of ROM and 2GB of RAM + 16GB of ROM; X1 Max: 4GB of RAM + 64GB of ROM and 3GB of RAM + 32GB of ROM

***2,250mAh for the X1
